made in Gjoa Haven, the only village on King William Island, 250km north of Arctic Circle in Nunavut, Canada. One of the older ladies wears the traditional fur-clothes. Gjoa Haven is named after Amundsen's ship Gjoa, staying here during his exploration of the Northwest Passage in the beginning of the last century, between 1901 and 1903.
