ruins of abandoned Pioneer-buildings at Lee's Ferry, Arizona. Lee's Ferry was the only crossing within a distance of 800 km/500 miles over the Colorado River before the Navajo Bridge was built 1928 a few miles west. The erection of Glen Canyon Dam 1964 offered another chance to cross the steep Colorado Canyon (Hwy 89).
