shows the Salinas de Janubio at the western edge of the
island of Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain. This saltpans were
created around 1895 and are still in use. At the peak they produced
more than 10'000 tons of salt, preferrably used for fish-conservation.
I was impressed about the strong geometric pattern of the dams and
the salty ponds between, therefore I converted the original slide
in black and white.
